I just want my brother to sit in his robe and old man house shoes
To have that privilege to grow old and tell his grandchildren stories like our pawpaw does.
Is that too much to ask?
For him to be an ornery old man who likes what he likes and pretends he doesn't like that mushy stuff like kisses from his daughter, but smiles when she turns her back
To shuffle from room to room and look out windows to shake his head at the kids across the street
Can he have that?
For my kids to say Uncle Steve is crazy, and we should put him in a home.
Can we share that laugh?
